My Approach: Growing With Heart
I believe real growth happens when science, compassion, and genuine connection come together. Every child has their own personality, strengths, and spark, and every family has its own values and voice. My job is to honor all of that.
Here’s the heart of it: behavior is communication. When a child melts down, hides, or lashes out, they’re telling us something. I listen through observation, data, and lots of conversation with you, then respond with strategies that are compassionate and empowering. I am down on the floor playing alongside your child and meeting them where they are.
Whether we’re working at home, school, or in a clinic, here’s what you can always count on:
- We’re a team. Families, clinic teams, and teachers are the experts on their kids and their settings. I listen, I ask, and we make decisions together. I’m not here to hand you a list of orders.
- Every family’s culture matters. Your traditions and values shape the goals we set, so the skills each child learns align with what you value most.
- Kindness always comes first. Every child’s emotional safety and trust come before everything else, at home, in the clinic, and in the classroom.
- Skills that make life better. I focus on skills that build real independence, and I make sure families, clinic staff, and educators have the tools and confidence to keep the growth going between sessions.
- Data-guided, kid-centered. I track progress carefully, but a child is never just a number. Plans flex and change as each child grows and shows us what works for them.
- Always learning. I keep up with the latest research, welcome feedback, and keep growing, just like the kids I work with!
